PARA Method

Projects, Areas, Resources, Archives. Action-based organization.

Your brain is for having ideas, not holding them.
— Tiago Forte
The Criticism

Static folders often lead to 'Project Drift' where the distinction between a Project and an Area becomes blurred.

The Smart Solution

Dynamic P-A mapping. The system re-classifies nodes based on your current 'Hottest Physical Action' (HPA) signals.

The Efficiency Gap

Most PARA implementations fail because they require manual dragging and dropping of files. When you are in ‘Flow State’, the last thing you want to do is decide if a note belongs in /Projects or /Areas.

The Smart PARA Implementation

We’ve turned PARA into a Dynamic Filter:

  1. Action-Sensitivity: If you are talking about a deadline, the system automatically tags the capture as a ‘Project’.
  2. Area Maintenance: Long-term interests (the ‘Areas’) are tracked in the background. The system identifies ‘Interest Decay’ and suggests moving stale Projects into the Archive.
  3. The Resource Vault: The system identifies ‘High Utility’ nodes and patterns and clusters them into ‘Resources’ for future reuse.

The Weekly Protocol

  • The HPA Shift: Every Sunday, the engine reviews your ‘Project’ density and suggests Archive moves for anything that hasn’t seen an HPA signal in 14 days.

Deploy this protocol with Smart Notes.
